NetSupport Manager allows you to restrict access to certain functions from the Control configurator. NetSupport School does not provide the same level of customisation from the user interface. However, changes to the Client32u.ini (or Client32.ini for pre-v12.50 Clients) and the registry can achieve the same results.

The settings for the Control/Tutor interface are stored in the registry key:

NetSupport School Tutor
HKEY_Current_User\Software\NetSupport Ltd\PCICTL\ConfigList\NetSupport School

NetSupport Manager Control
HKEY_Current_User\Software\NetSupport Ltd\PCICTL\ConfigList\Standard

By adding certain values to the key, you can disable certain user interface options. You will need to add string values in the following format:

UI\Disable%Function% = 1

Where %Function% is the name of the function you are trying to disable.

For example:

UI\DisableChat=1
UI\DisableClipBoard=1
UI\DisableFileTransfer=1
UI\DisableShow=1
UI\DisableBlankScreen=1
UI\DisableWatch=1
UI\DisableShare=1
UI\DisableControl=1
UI\DisableReplay=1
UI\DisableReboot=1
UI\DisableMessage=1
UI\DisableExec=1
UI\DisableRegistryIO=1

Similar changes can be made at the Client machine to disable functions. These are made in the Client32u.ini file which can be found in your NetSupport installation directory.

For example, DisableShare=1

For more information on the client32u.ini file, please see Manually editing the Client32u.ini file.

This article is advising you to modify the registry, and you do so at your own risk. Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow the steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it.
