The classroom.cloud Student can be installed onto a PC image so it’s automatically installed when PCs are imaged. However, if the image is to be rolled out to a large number of machines (potentially across multiple sites) to ensure the Student device connects to your classroom.cloud organisation and appears within the correct site, you can install the classroom.cloud Student with a blank configuration onto the image. The configuration of the installation can then be applied by methods such as Group Policy via the ADMX Templates.

Installing the classroom.cloud Student with a blank configuration
To install the classroom.cloud Student with a blank configuration, there is an install command which allows the installation to complete without accepting any configuration details.

MSI installer
msiexec /i “C:\Installers\setup.msi” /qn INSTALLTYPE=IMAGE

EXE installer
“C:\Installers\setup.exe” /s /v”/qn INSTALLTYPE=IMAGE”

The commands above will install the Student component as normal but not apply any configuration or start the Student process at the end of the installation.

Once the Student has been installed using this method, please refer the following technical article for configuring the Student device by Group Policy via the ADMX Template files:

Configuring the classroom.cloud Student via Group Policy
