In some environments, it’s not possible to use a .ini configuration file to configure the .msi installer when performing a silent installation (such as when deploying via Intune). In cases like this, you can still deploy our software and instruct the .msi installer what components of the software to install by using parameters when executing the installer. This article details a list of supported command line parameters that can be used for each of our products. Please note that any parameters shown in bold are required for the installation to be completed successfully.

NetSupport DNA Agent

  • SERVERADDRESS="ServerAddress"
    • IP address or hostname of the computer where the Server application resides or on a remote network where the Client Gateway resides.
  • INSTALLLSP=<1/0>
    • Controls whether the Web Filter Driver component is installed (1) on the target machine or not (0).
  • NOARP=<1/0>
    • Hides the entry in Add/Remove programs (1), thus preventing uninstall from the Control Panel, or not (0).

Example
To install the DNA Agent with the LSP web filter driver:

/qn SERVERADDRESS="10.20.10.38" INSTALLLSP=1

NetSupport Manager

  • NSM_EVAL=1/0
    • Instructs the installer to install an evaluation or licensed version of the product, specify 1 to install an evaluation and 0 to install a licensed version of the product.
  • NSM_LICENCEE="LICENCEE"
    • Configures the licensee value for installing a licensed version of the product (refer to your licence sheet for licence information).
  • NSM_SERIALNO=SERIAL
    • Configures the serial number value for installing a licensed version of the product (refer to your licence sheet for licence information).
  • NSM_MAXCLIENTS=0
    • Configures the max number of Clients value for installing a licensed version of the product (refer to your licence sheet for licence information).
  • NSM_AUTHCODE=0x0000000a
    • Configures the licence authorisation code for installing a licensed version of the product (refer to your licence sheet for licence information, this value can be referred to as the product code, licence code or authorisation code).
  • Client=<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether the Client component is installed (1) on the target machine or not (Blank).
  • CLIENT32=<Blank/Not Blank>
    • Setting this to anything causes the Client Service (if installed) to be set to manual start rather than automatic.
  • ClientIcon=<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether the “Reset Video Driver” shortcut icon is placed on the target machine’s Start menu or not (Blank). Only applicable if the relevant components are installed at the same time.
  • ClientParams=
    • Advanced users only. Please see the documentation for advice.
  • Configurator=<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether the Student Client configuration application is installed (1) on the target machine or not (Blank).
  • ConfigIcon=<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether the “NetSupport Manager Configurator” and “NetSupport School Configurator” shortcut icons are placed on the target machine’s Start menu or not (Blank). Only applicable if the relevant components are installed at the same time.
  • Control=<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether the Control component is installed (1) on the target machine or not (Blank).
  • ControlDeskIcon=<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether a shortcut icon for the Control application (1) is placed on the target machine’s desktop or not (Blank). Only applicable if the relevant components are installed at the same time.
  • ControlIcon=<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether the shortcut for the “Control” and “Video Player” icons are placed on the target machine’s Start menu or not (Blank). Only applicable if the relevant components are installed at the same time.
  • Gateway=<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether the Gateway component is installed on the target machine (1) or not (Blank).
  • PINServer=<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether the PIN Server component is installed on the target machine (1) or not (Blank).
  • Installdir=<driveletter:path>
    • Determines the drive and directory where the product will be installed. No quotes are required as normal Windows directory naming restrictions apply, for example:
      • Installdir=e:\my dir1\my dir2
  • NOARP=<1/Blank>
    • Hides the entry in Add/Remove programs (1), thus preventing uninstall from the Control Panel.
  • RemoteDeploy=<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether the Remote Deployment application is installed on the target machine (1) or not (Blank).
  • RemoteDeployIcon=<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether shortcut icons for the “Deploy” utility are placed on the target machine’s Start menu or not (Blank). Only applicable if the relevant components are installed at the same time.
  • Scripting=<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether the Scripting component is installed (1) or not (Blank).
  • ScriptingIcon=<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether shortcut icons for “Script Agent”, “Script Editor” and “Run Script” are placed on the target machine’s Start menu or not (Blank). Only applicable if the relevant components are installed at the same time.
  • Student=<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether the Student component is installed (1) on the target machine or not (Blank). Only applicable if the Client component is installed at the same time.
  • SuppressAudio=<1/Blank>
    • Prevents the installation of the Audio Capture component on Windows 2000, XP and 2003.
  • TechConsole =<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether the Tech Console component is installed (1) on the target machine or not (Blank). Only applicable if the Control component is installed at the same time.
  • TechConsoleDeskIcon=<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether a shortcut icon for the NetSupport School Tech Console application (1) is placed on the target machine’s desktop or not (Blank). Only applicable if the relevant components are installed at the same time.
  • TechConsoleIcon=<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether the Tech Console shortcut icon is placed on the target machine’s Start menu or not (Blank). Only applicable if the relevant component is installed at the same time.
  • Tutor =<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether the NetSupport School Tutor component is installed (1) on the target machine or not (Blank). Only applicable if the Control component is installed at the same time.
  • TutorDeskIcon=<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether a shortcut icon for the Tutor application (1) is placed on the target machine’s desktop or not (Blank). Only applicable if the relevant components are installed at the same time.
  • TutorIcon=<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether shortcut icons for the “Annotate”, “Test Designer”, “Power On Machines” and “Tutor” are placed on the target machine’s Start menu or not (Blank). Only applicable if the relevant components are installed at the same time.

NetSupport School

  • NSM_EVAL=1/0

    • Controls whether a shortcut for the “Tutor” application (1) is placed on the target machine’s desktop or not (Blank). Only applicable if the Tutor component is installed at the same time.
  • DesktopTCShortcut=<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether a shortcut for the “Tech Console” is installed (1) or not (Blank). Only applicable if the Tutor component is installed at the same time.
  • Installdir=<driveletter:path>
    • Determines the drive and directory where the product will be installed. No quotes are required as normal Windows directory naming restrictions apply, for example:

  • NameServer=<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether the Name and Connectivity Server component is installed (1) or not (Blank).

  • RemoteDeploy=<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether the Remote Deploy utility is installed on the target machine (1) or not (Blank). Only applicable if the Tutor component is installed at the same time.
  • ReplayConversion=<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether the standalone Replay Conversion Utility is installed (1) or not (Blank).
  • Student=<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether the Student component is installed (1) on the target machine or not (Blank).
  • TechConsole=<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether the Tech Console component is installed (1) or not (blank).
  • TestDesigner=<1/Blank>
    • Controls whether the standalone Test Designer component is installed (1) or not (Blank). Note this is not required if the Tutor is installed, as it is included with this component.
