  • How to switch the NetSupport DNA Console hierarchy to layout PCs and Users in their AD Containers
< Back

NetSupport DNA integrates with Active Directory, enabling you to configure the PCs and Users within the DNA Console to mirror their relative position within the Active Directory Container structure. Changes made within the AD structure are automatically reflected within NetSupport DNA. User information can also be retrieved from Active Directory.

Note: NetSupport DNA Active Directory integration requires that your NetSupport DNA Server is installed on a machine in the Active Directory domain.

Enable DNA Active Directory Console view in version 4.50 and above

  1. Open the DNA Console.
  2. Select the Settings tab.
  3. Click the General icon.
  4. Select Active Directory.
  5. Select Lay out PCs and users in their AD Containers rather than Departments where applicable.
  6. Click Save.
  7. A warning dialog will appear confirming you wish to proceed. Click Yes.

Enable DNA Active Directory Console view in version 4.00 to 4.40

  1. Open the DNA Console.
  2. Select the Tools tab.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click the Active Directory icon in the Console Preferences section.
  5. Select Lay out PCs and users in their AD Containers rather than Departments where applicable.
  6. Click Save.
  7. A warning dialog will appear confirming you wish to proceed. Click Yes.

PCs and Users within the DNA Console hierarchy will now mirror their relative position within the Active Directory Container structure.

Please be aware that once you have chosen to use the AD Container layout, it is not possible to return to the default departments hierarchy view.

Note: When Agents are moved to their Active Directory Containers, any previous department settings may not apply to the Active Directory Container. Please review the component and Agent settings to ensure you have the correct settings applied.
