The Support Tool provided with NetSupport School for Mac gathers detailed information required to assist our Technical Support team, should you encounter a problem. The Support Tool gathers details from the machine where the Support Tool has been executed; this tool then collects and stores these details within a .tar file.

To run the Support Tool on a machine running NetSupport School for Mac, you need to download the supporttool.app file (this is available from our Support team).

Note: The Support Tool is not supported on macOS Catalina.

Running the Support Tool

  1. Once downloaded, copy the supportool.app into:
    Applications/NetSupport/NetSupport School.
  2. Double click the file to run the application.
  3. Click Start to collect the relevant files
  4. Once the files are collected, click Close. A NSASupport.tar file containing the relevant files will be saved on the desktop. This file can be emailed to our Support team for investigation.
