In certain circumstances, the NetSupport Manager or NetSupport School installation program can incorrectly display a message stating that you need to have admin rights even though the logged on user does have admin rights.

The NetSupport Manager/School installation routine uses the temp folder on the workstation during the installation process. If the folder pointed to by the temp environment variable is invalid, then the setup program will not function.

To check the temp environment variable

  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Select System.
  3. Click Advanced system settings.
  4. Click Environment Variables.

  1. Find the TEMP variable in the User Variable list.
  2. Check that the folder listed exists. If this does not exist, create the folder and run the NetSupport Manager/School installation again.
