This article applies to NetSupport Manager v14.00. For information on using on version 12.80 and below, click here.

The NetSupport Manager Client user interface (Information window) will display a warning triangle at the bottom left of the window to indicate that the Client machine has no security options set and advise the user to either run the Client Configurator if they have admin rights or, if not, to contact the network administrator.

The Client will determine whether sufficient security has been applied by checking the following settings:

    • User Acknowledgement
    • Enable Smartcard Authentication
    • User Validation
    • Authenticate user and password with NT Groups
    • Authenticate user and password with AD Groups
    • Security Key
    • RADIUS Authentication

If none of these options are set, the warning triangle will appear. Clicking this allows administrative users to access the Client Configurator and enable the required settings directly.

Enabling one or more of the above security settings will hide the warning triangle, confirming the Client is now secure.
