Machine name displayed instead of user name when prompted for a user name and password to connect to a Client

By default, when the NetSupport Manager Control is installed, it will use the machine name as the Control name. Therefore, when the Control is prompted to enter a user name and password to establish a connection to a Client, the machine name/Control name is used.

Customise the Control name
The Control name can be customised to one of your choosing.

1. Select {Network} {Configure} from the Control window drop-down menu.
2. Select General.

3. Enter the preferred name for the Control in the Control Name field and click OK.
4. You will be prompted to apply the changes, click Yes.
5. The configured Control name is displayed instead of the machine name.
