If a NetSupport Manager Client or NetSupport School Student has more than one network card, when the Control or Tutor right clicks the Client and selects {Properties}{Details}, the MAC address is incorrectly displayed for the network card that the Control/Tutor is connected to.

To resolve this, you will need to edit the Client Configuration file on the Client machine manually.

  1. Open the folder that you installed NetSupport Manager/School into:
    32bit C:\Program Files\NetSupport\NetSupport Manager or NetSupport School
    64bit C:\Program Files(x86)\NetSupport\NetSupport Manager or NetSupport School
  2. Find and open the Client32u.ini file (or Client32.ini for pre-v12.50 Clients) in a text editor such as Notepad.
  3. In the [Client] section of the client32u.ini file, enter in the following value:
macaddress=xxxxxxxxxxx (enter in the correct MAC address for that network card without the hyphens)
  4. Save the file.
  5. You will now have to re-checksum the Client32u.ini file using the utility CKSINI.EXE – For more information on how to do this, please click here.
  6. Clients will need to be restarted for the changes to take effect.
