  • How to disable the Welcome wizard prompt from the NetSupport School Tutor Console via Group Policy
< Back

When the NetSupport School Tutor loads, a Welcome wizard is displayed. From here, you can deploy the Student software onto new computers in your current classroom, by clicking Classroom. If you need to deploy the Student software across your network or need more advanced options, click Network.

Once you have successfully installed NetSupport School onto your network computers, you may no longer want to see the Welcome wizard. This can be disabled via Active Directory Group Policy.

Step 1
Import the NetSupport School Tutor Console Machine ADM or ADMX Template file into the GPO. The file can be found in:

32bit C:\Program Files\NetSupport\NetSupport School\ADM Templates
64bit C:\Program Files (x86)\NetSupport\NetSupport School\ADM Templates

Once this has been imported into the Computer Policy, you will find policy settings available for the NetSupport School Tutor.

Step 2
Navigate to the policy setting:

Administrative Templates – NSS Tutor Settings – Start Options – Misc Startup options

Set the following policy option to be disabled: Show First Startup Menu

Once this has been applied, the Welcome wizard will no longer appear when you start the Tutor Console.
