Within NetSupport DNA, there is the option to create your own reports using the Query Tool feature. A Query Scheduler tool is also available to allow you to generate queries on a scheduled basis and then email them to your chosen email addresses. This article explains how to create a query to be run manually using the Query Tool and how to use the Query Scheduler to generate these on a scheduled basis.

Creating a custom query using the Query Tool

  1. Logon to the DNA Console.
  2. Select the Tools tab.
  3. Click the Query Tool icon in the ribbon.
  4. The Query Tool window will appear.

  1. From here, you can access the drop-down Queries menu to see a list of predefined queries built into DNA or you can click New to create a new query.
  2. Once a new query is open, choose the required Source Fields to populate the Display Fields and Condition Fields sections.
  3. After choosing the required fields, click Run.  A window will open, showing a table of your chosen display fields and the results that matched your conditions.
  4. You can then export the report to one of the following formats: XML, HTML and CSV.

Creating scheduled queries

  1. Logon to the DNA Console.
  2. Select the Tools tab.
  3. Click the Schedule Queries icon.
  4. When the Scheduler Administration tool appears, click New.

  1. Enter a name for your query and click Define Query.
  2. Follow the steps in the above section to create your chosen query.
  3. Populate the file name prefix field and folder location to store the results.
  4. An email can be sent with the report attached, enter your email addresses and select the options Send notification and Attach report.
  5. Click Add and choose the date and time to run the report and whether this is to be repeated.

  1. Click OK. NetSupport DNA will run the query automatically at the scheduled date and time.
